Evidence-based testing to help you measure the efficacy of your cleaning and disinfecting program
Build Confidence in your Cleaning and Disinfecting Program
Harmful pathogens can exist on common touchpoints and other surfaces that may look clean, but pose an invisible threat. ATP technology can be used for evidence-based testing to measure and monitor your cleaning-for-health program, giving building occupants and customers a greater peace of mind.
ATP Technology: How it Works
- ATP meters function by using bioluminescence to measure the molecule adenosine triphosphate, commonly known as ATP.
- This molecule is found in plant, animal, and microbial cells – all organic matter contains ATP.
- The presence of ATP on a surface indicates that there is organic material present, even if it is not observable by the naked eye.
- ATP meters can measure the amount of this organic material on a given surface; material that should not be present on a surface after appropriate cleaning.
Build Confidence in your Cleaning and Disinfecting Program
Our ATP testing and training services will help bring your cleaning-for-health program to the next level:
- Testing of common touchpoints and high-traffic areas
- Date and time-stamped results and readings
- Reports indicating which touchpoints and areas may require additional cleaning and disinfecting
- Root cause analysis to identify training, equipment or supply gaps
- Easy metrics and thresholds to use for janitorial contract compliance, KPI’s and monitoring
- Before-and-after testing for measuring effectiveness of enhanced cleaning
- Training programs to teach your team how to use ATP technology for continuous cleaning improvement

ATP and Viruses
- ATP devices to not detect or confirm the presence of a virus or COVID-19
- ATP testing is not a “virus test”; rather, it measure the amount of organic material on a surface, which may include harmless bacteria and other benign organic matter
- Performing ATP Cleaning Verification does not guarantee removal of viruses or other pathogens on surfaces
- ATP testing is only one element of safe and healthy cleaning; CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting should be the foundation for any healthy cleaning program
Our Clients Love Us
